Which is better?
They aren't in competition! Parents often ask me if virtual therapy is "as good" as coming into an office. The answer from both clinical experience and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is a resounding yes. ASHA guidelines state that teletherapy must hold the exact same standard of quality, ethics, and effectiveness as an in-person visit. The clinical goals don't change—just the tools!
How it looks: In-Person. 🛋️
Best for hands-on sensory exploration, physical manipulation of speech tools, and getting high energy out in a dedicated clinical space.
How it looks: Teletherapy 🖥️
Best for utilizing highly motivating digital rewards, increasing direct focus on facial/mouth modeling, and making attendance stress-free for busy schedules.
The Clinical Reality
Decades of speech-language studies prove that children make excellent progress toward their articulation, language, and social goals via virtual sessions because the underlying therapeutic strategies are identical.
Let’s find your perfect fit!
Every child is unique, which is why my practice proudly offers both in-person and teletherapy options to fit your child's personality and your family's routine.
Teletherapy isn't a lesser alternative; it's a powerful, evidence-based service delivery model. The choice between screen-to-screen or face-to-face really comes down to your individual child's needs and your family's lifestyle.
